The City of Kennesaw operates under a Mayor and City Council, with a City Manager form of government. The Mayor and five Council positions are elected at large for staggered four (4) year terms. The Mayor and Council are part-time officials.
A full-time City Manager serves at the pleasure of the Mayor & Council and is responsible for the day-to-day operations according to the policy established by the Mayor & Council.
The Mayor and City Council appoint volunteer members to various boards and commissions to assist in the departmental functioning of the City.
The Mayor and Council meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Council/Court Chambers of City Hall. Agenda work-session meetings are held on the Wednesday prior to the Monday night Council meeting at 6:30pm in the City Hall Training Room. |
